03 — Directory

Every native tool on the bench

Tools built into the hub itself. Filters live in the URL, so any view can be shared as a link.

04 — Standalone apps

Bigger jobs get their own bench

Full apps from the same workshop, each on its own domain, all under the same rules. Cards open in a new tab.

05 — The system

This is one light in a sky of thirty-four

Every tool and app here belongs to a single body of work: 34 live websites built by one maker in the EU, from driving instruments and money guards to calm rooms, games and a dog translator. We drew the whole thing as a star system you can fly through.

06 — Principles

Built plain, on purpose

Your data stays yours

Tools run in your browser. Text, images and numbers are processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded, logged or profiled.

No accounts, ever

A tool that demands a login for a ten-second job isn't a tool, it's a trap. Everything here works the moment it loads.

Free, with honest sponsorship the only model

A small number of slots, always marked “Sponsored”, never disguised as tools and never inside your search results.

One workshop, many domains

Bigger tools live on their own domains so they stay fast and focused. Cards that leave the hub say so, with ↗ and the destination in plain sight — and every domain keeps the same promise.

plainforge is built and maintained by an independent maker in the EU. No venture funding, no growth team, no dark patterns. Just tools that would have been useful anyway. More about the forge.

07 — FAQ

Fair questions

Is everything on plainforge really free?

Yes. Every tool in the network is free to use, with no feature gates or trial timers. The plan for keeping it that way is a few clearly labelled sponsor slots, nothing else.

Why do some tools open on a different domain?

plainforge is a workshop, not a single app. Bigger tools live on their own domains so they stay fast and focused. Cards that leave the hub are marked with ↗ and the destination, and every domain keeps the same promise.

Do you see what I type into a tool?

No. Tools process everything in your browser. Your text, images and numbers stay on your device; we couldn't read them if we wanted to.

How does plainforge make money?

Right now, mostly it doesn't. The hub's only model is the slot marked “Sponsored” — never an affiliate link dressed up as a tool, never selling data. Some standalone apps carry clearly disclosed partner links on their own pages, under their own policies.
